Germany has once again started talking about the possibility of transferring long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine. This time, the initiative was taken by the Free Democratic Party of Germany.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Tagesschau.
According to media reports, the leader of the FDP parliamentary faction, Christian Durr, once again called for Ukraine to receive Taurus long-range cruise missiles. In his opinion, the delay in the transfer of weapons to Ukraine may be an indulgence of the Russian narrative that anyone supplying long-range weapons systems can provoke a nuclear war in Europe.
It is also known that the VDP has submitted a proposal to the parliament to supply Taurus to Ukraine. However, it is likely that neither the Social Democratic Party of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz nor the opposition Christian Democratic Union will vote for this proposal.
