British Ambassador Martin Harris has called unacceptable Russian attacks on merchant ships in Odesa region ports, which took place three times in a row this week.

According to Yevropeiska Pravda, he posted the statement on his Twitter account.

Ambassador Harris wrote that he was appalled to learn that a fourth civilian grain ship, which was supposed to be carrying grain as humanitarian aid, was targeted by a Russian missile, killing eight people and injuring 11.

“Russia is violating all humanitarian norms,” he emphasized.

Reacting to the earlier shelling this week, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy emphasized that Russia's attacks on grain carriers leaving Ukrainian ports are attacks on food supplies around the world.

“Putin's illegal invasion of Ukraine and ongoing aggression hurts all of us, but most of all the world's hungriest,” David Lammy wrote.
