The Bulgarian government has decided to join the European Defense Agency's Joint Ammunition Procurement project, which involves combining the efforts of states to purchase artillery shells for themselves and Ukraine.
This was reported by The Sofia Globe.
The project, initiated in March, paves the way for EU member states and Norway to engage in a two-year accelerated procedure for the purchase of 155-mm artillery ammunition and a seven-year project to purchase various types of ammunition.
It became part of the EU's plan to provide Ukraine with artillery shells: the participating states transfer weapons from their warehouses to Kyiv and in return expect to replenish the arsenal in a short time.
