“It is important that we continue to support Ukraine's struggle for freedom in all possible ways. That is why I am very pleased that Denmark has agreed with Ukraine on a general framework for how we can best use the 4.2 billion Danish kroner provided by the EU and Denmark,” said Mr. Poulsen.

According to him, these funds will be financed by DKK 1.3 billion allocated by the Danish government and DKK 2.9 billion from frozen Russian assets that Denmark will use on behalf of the EU.

“Denmark is a leader in providing weapons directly from the Ukrainian defense industry. This strengthens the ability of Ukrainians to produce exactly the weapons they need,” Mr. Poulsen said.

He also reminded that Denmark has recently completed a pilot project that financed 18 artillery shells made in Ukraine. The shells have already been delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
