EU prepares new sanctions against Iran for supplying weapons to Russia
The European Union plans in a few days to impose sanctions on Iranian individuals and entities because of the sale of weapons to Russia, which is used in the war against Ukraine.

According to the newspaper, Brussels has already prepared a new list of sanctions against Tehran. Diplomats hope to agree on the new package on Wednesday, or at least before the EU leaders' summit on Thursday and Friday.
One senior official called the new package a "strong signal" to Tehran, and another senior official said that such individual sanctions are faster to impose than economic sanctions, which would require a new legal framework and could have little additional effect given that Iran is already under tough economic sanctions from the United States.
