France is preparing a plan to help damaged monuments in Odesa

Feb 9, 2024

After a visit to Odesa, French Special Envoy for Relief and Reconstruction of Ukraine Pierre Heilbronn said that Paris would help restore museums and cultural monuments in Odesa that were damaged by the war.

He announced this on his Twitter (X).

Heilbronn noted that about a hundred cultural heritage sites were damaged in Odesa, and also reminded that Odesa is a sister city of the French city of Marseille.

"Cultural institutions in Odesa have survived, but they need support from international partners. They need specialists to restore the damage and cooperation to increase their attractiveness. France is preparing a set of solutions to respond to these urgent needs," he said.
