Germany may provide Ukraine with surface drones.
This was announced by the German Ministry of Defense following the recent Ramstein.
It is reported that the surface drones will be included in the "winter" aid package worth 400 million euros.
"50 surface drones will help to repel the aggressor not only on land but also at sea. Some projects are being implemented through donations from the Bundeswehr funds and in cooperation with industrial partners. The promised equipment should be provided to Ukraine as soon as possible," the ministry's website says.
At the same time, the German government's website lists a different number for surface drones - 10, not 50.
This category of supply also includes the following remark: "This is an industrial supply financed by the training initiative. Some deliveries are related to repair work or production is still in progress."
That is, it is not entirely clear what kind of devices these will be - finished drones or assistance in their production.
Military experts interviewed by Forbes magazine say that Germany may consider developing and producing these drones at home to hand them over to Ukraine. At the same time, they point out that the Bundeswehr or the German military-industrial complex is currently unaware of the availability of such devices.
"The Bundeswehr has no stocks of them or obvious German industrial partners with suitable military drones that can be delivered by the dozens in a short time," the Forbes article says.-
