Germany to send MANTIS systems to Slovakia to replace Patriot
Germany will send two MANTIS anti-aircraft artillery systems to Slovakia by the end of the year.
This is reported by Evropeiska Pravda with reference to the Bundeswehr press service.
It is noted that Slovak servicemen are already training to work with MANTIS systems.
The Bundeswehr emphasized that since March 2022, it has been strengthening the Alliance's air defense by temporarily deploying in Slovakia, in particular, the Patriot system, which will be returned to Germany this year.
MANTIS is a short-range anti-aircraft artillery system manufactured by Rheinmetall Defense. It is designed to protect military and strategic civilian infrastructure from low-altitude air threats, including manned and unmanned aircraft.
