EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrel condemned the killing of dozens of Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Russian-occupied Olenivka, Donetsk region.
This was reported by the European Pravda.
"The European Union most strongly condemns the atrocities committed by the Russian armed forces and their puppets. These inhuman, barbaric acts are serious violations of the Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocol and constitute war crimes," Borrell said in a statement issued by the European External Action Service.
The top EU diplomat stressed that the perpetrators of war crimes, as well as the government officials and military representatives responsible for them, will be held accountable.
"The European Union actively supports all measures to ensure accountability for violations of human rights and international humanitarian law committed during the Russian aggression in Ukraine," Borrell added.-
