The United States said on Monday that Iran is lying when it claims that Iranian-made drones are not used by Russia in the war against Ukraine. This is reported by UNN with reference to BBC.

According to White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre, there is extensive evidence that Russia uses Iranian drones to strike military and civilian targets and Tehran is considering the possibility of continuing to supply such weapons.

The US has warned that after the strikes on Kyiv with the use of Iranian kamikaze drones, it will take measures against companies and countries that cooperate with Iran in the development of such drones.

"Anyone who does business with Iran and may have anything to do with the development of drones or ballistic missiles, or the supply of weapons from Iran to Russia, should be very careful and do their due diligence, because the United States will not delay sanctions or other measures against violators," State Department spokesman Vedant Patel told reporters.

According to him, the entire Middle East region, and the world as a whole, should consider the strengthening alliance of Moscow and Tehran as a serious threat to the whole world.

Patel noted that from the US point of view, Iran's supply of drones violates the UN Security Council resolution banning Iran's export of conventional weapons, which, however, expired in 2020.

The State Department representative also cited US intelligence data, according to which some of the Iranian drones sold to Russia turned out to be defective, and stressed that the purchase of military equipment from Tehran indicates that Russia has huge problems with weapons.

Moscow, he said, "is forced to turn to such unreliable countries as Iran for equipment".
