Iran rejects accusations of an attack on the American base in Jordan

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani on Monday called baseless the accusations against the country regarding the drone strike on the American base in Jordan, as a result of which three soldiers were killed.

"Resistance groups in the region do not take orders from the Islamic Republic of Iran in their decisions and actions. The Islamic Republic has nothing to do with the decisions of the resistance groups on how they support the Palestinian people or defend themselves and the people of their countries in the face of any aggression and occupation," Kanaani said, commenting on the drone attack on the US military base in Jordan.

The head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry called the statement of US President Joe Biden that Iran-backed groups in Iraq and Syria were responsible for the attack, "a blame game and a conspiracy of those who are trying to protect their interests and hide their problems, drawing the United States into a new conflict in the region and provoking them to intensify the crisis."
