Kuleba suggests Zelenskyy to break diplomatic relations with Iran

Oct 18, 2022

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba submits to the President a proposal to terminate diplomatic relations with Iran because of Russia's use of drones against the civil infrastructure of Ukraine.

Kuleba said this at a briefing on Tuesday, reports European Pravda.

"Iran's actions are meanness and lies that we will not tolerate," Kuleba said, adding that Tehran bears full responsibility for ruining relations with Ukraine.

"Given the numerous destructions caused by Iranian drones to Ukraine's civil infrastructure, the deaths and suffering inflicted on our people, and the reports that Iran may continue to supply weapons to Russia, I am submitting a proposal to the president to terminate diplomatic relations with Iran." He noted.

Kuleba added that Ukraine has never taken an anti-Iranian position.

"But after Iran became a party to the crime of aggression and crimes of Russia on our territory, today we will take a very clear and honest position. If Iran stops supplying weapons to Russia, we will talk about the resumption of relations," the minister added.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that Iran's provision of weapons to Russia for a full-scale war makes it an accomplice to aggression and war crimes on the territory of Ukraine.
