“We will increase support for innovation for Norwegian defense companies developing equipment for Ukraine, support Nammo's plans to create a new production line for rocket engines, strengthen the Norwegian explosives production chain, and explore the possibility of establishing a new plant for the production of military explosives in Norway,” said Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram.

For small and medium-sized companies developing technologies for Ukraine

The government will increase support for Norwegian small and medium-sized enterprises by 342 million kroner (about $31 million). The program, which is now being expanded, is managed by the Norwegian Defense Research Institute (FFI).

Companies can apply for funding for the industrial production of technologies that could be useful to the Ukrainian armed forces.

Support for Nammo's new line of rocket engines

The government has also decided to co-finance a fourth production line for rocket engines at the Nammo plant in Raughfoss. These engines are used in most air defense systems produced in Germany and the United States.

Nammo already has two lines, and a third is under construction with support from the government and the EU. The purpose of the new financing is to raise capital for the construction of a fourth line.

Financing for the production of hexamine for explosives

The government has offered to co-finance the production of hexamine, an important component for the creation of modern explosives. Norway is one of the few Western countries that produces the kind of explosives that Ukraine needs to defend itself against Russia.
