Occupants continue chemical attacks against the Defence Forces
The Russian invaders continue to use special ammunition containing hazardous chemicals against Ukrainian defenders.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is known that over the past month, 447 cases of the use of chemical munitions by enemy forces against the Ukrainian military were recorded.
It is noted that for the period from 15 February 2023 to 24 August this year, the number of such cases is 4035.
The General Staff explained that the use of chemical munitions is carried out simultaneously with conventional firepower.
The enemy uses K-51 and RG-VO agents for chemical attacks. They are riot control agents and are prohibited for use in warfare.
The General Staff noted that there is also a significant proportion of enemy munitions containing dangerous chemical compounds of unspecified type.
‘By doing so, Russia is grossly violating the rules of warfare, ignoring the norms and obligations under the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction,’ the statement said.
