Attorney General Andriy Kostin met with U.S. Senators Jim Risch, Chris Coons, and Mike Rounds in Halifax.
According to Ukrinform, the Office of the Attorney General reported this on Facebook.
Kostin thanked the senators for their comprehensive bipartisan support for Ukraine.
"We all realize that today the free world is experiencing a critical moment, and we must be united as never before to stop Russia and ensure full accountability of the Kremlin regime," the attorney general said.
Kostin noted that this is why the request of the US Presidential Administration for additional spending to finance assistance to Ukraine is vital. He also expressed hope for the support of senators in this critical issue.
During the meeting, the parties discussed legislative initiatives that are crucial for Ukraine's fight for justice. Among them are a bill to restore economic prosperity and opportunities for Ukrainians aimed at seizing Russian sovereign assets and a resolution condemning Russia's abduction of Ukrainian children.
The U.S. Attorney General and Senators also considered the possibility of introducing legislative initiatives to address the aggressor's illegal detention of Ukrainian civilians.
