Putin's rhetoric shows that he is afraid of long-range strikes by the AFU

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's threats to change the Kremlin's nuclear doctrine indicate his fears that Ukraine may be allowed to use long-range weapons to hit targets in Russia.

This was stated by Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurinas Kasciunas during a joint press conference with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, RBC-Ukraine reports citing LRT.

“We all heard Putin's words. I believe that the key message is not what he said, but that by talking about the new concept, he makes it clear that giving Ukraine the ability to strike long-range is a really important issue that he is afraid of,” Kasciunas said.

Pistorius, in turn, emphasized that the West is not intimidated by Putin's “nuclear rhetoric.”

“I can repeat that this is Putin's rhetoric. He speaks loudly and spreads his threats, and we should not be intimidated by it. We will do what we think is right. He can spread it through his channels, but it will not scare us,” the German Defense Minister said.
