Two Iranian kamikaze drones “Shahed” launched from the territory of Belarus were shot down in the Kyiv region.
This was reported in an interview with RBC-Ukraine by the speaker of the command of the Air Force of the AFU Yuriy Ihnat.
According to him, it was quite expected that the aggressor would transport these UAVs among others to the territory of Belarus.
“Just as they once launched them from the south, for example, from Crimea, so they can launch them from other locations as well. They just picked it up and moved it. It was expected. It is just that now they will be able to attack western regions from a shorter distance,” Ihnat said.
It is to be noted that this is the first known case of the use of Iranian kamikaze drones “Shahed” from the territory of Belarus.
It was reported recently that the regional office of the Territorial Defense Forces “West” reported that Russia might have transported Iranian kamikaze drones to Belarus. At the time, we were talking about several dozen UAVs.
