On the evening of October 7, Russian terrorists attacked Odesa with ballistic missiles. The enemy hit a civilian ship flying the Palauan flag. The attack resulted in a death and injuries.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing Telegram messages from the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, and the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction, Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, Oleksiy Kuleba.
According to Kiper, Russia targeted the port infrastructure of Odesa. The enemy hit the civilian ship OPTIMA flying the Palauan flag with a ballistic missile. A 60-year-old Ukrainian, an employee of a private cargo handling company, was killed.
Five other foreign nationals on the crew were injured. Four of them are in moderate condition, one is in light condition. They are currently receiving the necessary medical care.
According to Kuleba, the vessel entered the port for loading only today. However, in a few hours it became the target of the aggressor country.
The Minister emphasized that Russian terrorists are once again trying to disrupt the work of the Ukrainian grain corridor. This is the second attack on a civilian vessel in the ports of Odesa region in the last few days.
Law enforcement agencies are recording the consequences of another Russian crime.
