The United States is convinced that during the meeting between dictators Kim Jong-un and Vladimir Putin, the parties agreed to transfer weapons - negotiations on this topic are ongoing.
This was stated by US Department of State spokesman Matthew Miller, RBC-Ukraine reports citing Ukrinform.
"We have repeatedly talked about this and warned that arms talks between Russia and the DPRK almost certainly took place during Kim Jong-un's trip to Russia. And we believe they are ongoing," Miller said.
He added that the parties can agree on an exchange: Russia will receive weapons, and the DPRK will receive military technology. According to the State Department spokesperson, this would undermine the global nonproliferation regime and violate the relevant UN Security Council resolutions, which Russia also voted for.
"Therefore, we urge the DPRK to honor what it has publicly stated and refrain from supplying weapons to Russia," Miller said.-
