The Taliban terrorist movement expects the Russian authorities to simplify the visa regime with Afghanistan. This was stated by Foreign Minister of the Taliban-formed government Amir Khan Mottaki at a meeting with Russian Ambassador Dmitry Zhirnov, the Information Resistance Telegram channel reports.
The foreign minister emphasized that entry rules should be eased for both business representatives and ordinary citizens.
The Russian Embassy in Afghanistan has suspended the issuance of visas and documents "until further notice" after an explosion occurred near the building of the consular section of the diplomatic mission in Kabul on September 5. As a result, two employees were killed. Before that, the Taliban had guaranteed security for the Russian embassy, and the Russian Foreign Ministry said it was not going to evacuate the mission.
Russians also need a visa to visit Afghanistan, which can be obtained at the embassy. Ariana Afghan Airlines flies between Moscow and Kabul.
