An Ukrinform correspondent reported this in Brussels during a briefing for the press.

“The European Union is closely monitoring the development of the situation in the Republic of Moldova and the strengthened region of Transnistria. We have confirmed that the stability of this region is, first and foremost, in the interests of the population in protecting the banks of the Dniester. In this context, we encourage both offended parties to reach a constructive dialogue. “We have constant and close contact with the government of the Republic of Moldova and we are working on what we can do to resolve the current situation,” said the EU riverman.

He said that the European Union will continue to promote peace and wider regulation of the conflict around Transnistria.

“There is a frozen conflict on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, we are approaching this based on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova, which provides continued support from the side of the EU and its “In-members,” Stano said.
