The first civilian ships used the temporary corridor in the direction of Ukrainian ports.
RBC-Ukraine reported this with reference to the Facebook page of the Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov.
"After using a temporary corridor for the exit of ships blocked due to Russian aggression from the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Yuzhnoye, the bulk carriers Resilient Africa and Aroyat confirmed their readiness to use the route to the entrance to the port of Chornomorsk to load almost 20,000 tons of wheat for African and Asian countries," - he said.
According to the government official, the vessels are under the flag of Palau, and their crew consists of citizens of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Egypt, and Ukraine.
Previously, the temporary corridor, which was created by the Ministry of Infrastructure together with the military, was used to evacuate ships that were in Odesa ports at the time of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
In particular, five vessels have used it since August 15: container ship Joseph Schulte, bulk carriers Primus, Anna-Theresa, Ocean Courtesy, and Puma.
The experts, in turn, called the creation of a temporary corridor a serious breakthrough for the country and emphasized that it will be possible to talk about complete unblocking when ships not only leave Ukrainian ports but also return to them.
