Deputy Defense Minister Dmytro Klymenkov met with the Belgian delegation. In particular, they discussed priorities in the purchase of military equipment for Ukraine.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The Belgian delegation consisted of a representative of the embassy and the management of John Cockerill Defence. At the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation.
In particular, Klymenkov emphasized the importance of air defense systems.
"Despite the fact that our air defense soldiers demonstrate quite good results, last winter's experience showed that the enemy is aiming to attack Ukrainian infrastructure. Russia has not abandoned its plan, so we need more air defense systems," he said.
The Deputy Defense Minister also briefed the partners on the reform of the procurement system in the Ministry. The changes should make the process transparent and understandable for all participants.
In addition, Klymenkov spoke about the Defense Procurement Agency, which is responsible for purchasing weapons and military equipment.
