Oct 14, 2024

The US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on Iran's oil and petrochemical sectors. The reason was Tehran's massive missile attack against Israel.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Treasury (OFAC).

Restrictions were imposed on ten organizations in several jurisdictions. In addition, sanctions have been imposed on 17 vessels for their participation in the operations of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), against which the United States has previously imposed restrictions.

In addition, the US State Department imposed restrictions on six organizations and six vessels. The reason was the deliberate participation in the purchase and sale and transportation of oil and oil products from Iran.

It is noted that the restrictions are aimed at a significant part of the shadow fleet of tankers and illegal operators transporting the Iranian regime's oil for export.
