Ukraine has agreed with the US on joint production of weapons

Following a meeting with the US President, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced an agreement to jointly produce weapons.

He said this in a video message posted on Telegram.

According to him, the parties have reached a long-term agreement to work together to produce the necessary weapons together with the United States.

"This is a new level of our unity! Co-production in the defense sector with the United States is a historic thing. A new industrial base, new jobs for both our nations. Ukraine will be able to produce, in particular, air defense systems," Zelenskyy said.

He added that Kyiv is preparing to create a new defense ecosystem together with Washington to produce weapons and further strengthen freedom and protection of life.

The President of Ukraine also thanked his American counterpart, Joe Biden, and both parties in Congress.

"I felt trust - trust that is always the basis of unity. Clear, frank questions from members of the House of Representatives and senators. Straightforward answers. There were meetings today at the Pentagon as well - important conversations about defense support," Zelenskyy summarized.
