Ukrainian forces have destroyed 50 Russian ammunition depots using U.S.-supplied HIMARS rocket systems in the war with Russia.

This was stated by Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov on Monday, reports Reuters.

“This cuts their [Russian] logistical chains and takes away their ability to conduct active fighting and cover our armed forces with heavy shelling,” he said in televised comments.

On the air of the nationwide telethon, Reznikov said that Ukrainian artillerymen are filigree in their use of high-precision Western weapons, particularly HIMARS.

“Our artillerymen use HIMARS very filigree – they work like a surgeon with a scalpel. And you can see even in the photos of some bridge crossings how clearly [the shells] are laid,” the minister specified. “There was a report of our colleagues – in fact, they confirmed our information, but they had it in parallel thanks to satellite surveillance: the number of destroyed Russian ammunition depots, the number of command posts, we are talking about half a hundred facilities only in relation to places where ammunition is stored.”

Reznikov added that Western partners have already seen that Ukrainian defenders work professionally and effectively, “targets are chosen very clearly and hit effectively”.

This increases the level of their trust and readiness to provide new assistance, the minister added.
