Ukraine will receive more AS-90 air defense systems from the UK

Ukrainian soldiers will receive additional AS-90 self-propelled artillery systems from the UK. The delivery is scheduled for this year.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

According to the head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, he met with his British counterpart, John Healey. The main topic of the meeting was steps to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Umerov reminded that the UK provides Ukrainian soldiers with the necessary ammunition: artillery, mortar, air defense and anti-tank mines. Such timely supplies allow us to destroy the enemy.

“By the end of the year, more AS-90 artillery systems will appear at the front. There is also good news about long-range weapons and robotic systems - the enemy will feel it on the battlefield,” the minister said.

Umerov said that he had agreed with Gili to work out a list of priority needs to be financed by frozen Russian assets.

According to the Ukrainian minister, the key issue during the meeting was investment in the Ukrainian defense industry. The current task is to increase production in the defense industry.

A separate topic of discussion was the victory plan. Attention was focused on the defense sector.
