Ukraine needs more time to launch a counterattack against the Russian invaders, because the military still needs the promised help from allies.
This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky according to BBC.
He noted that the Ukrainian military can go forward and be successful with what it already has.
"With [what we already have] we can go forward, and, I think, be successful," he said in an interview for public service broadcasters who are members of Eurovision News, like the BBC. "But we'd lose a lot of people. I think that's unacceptable. So we need to wait. We still need a bit more time."
Zelensky described the combat brigades, some of which have been trained by NATO countries, as "ready", but said the army still needs "some things", including armored vehicles that come in batches.
At the same time, the president expressed confidence that the Ukrainian military could advance, warning of the risks of a "frozen conflict", which he said Russia is counting on.
