White House responds to criticism of Zelensky's visit to Pennsylvania

Shortly before arriving in Pennsylvania, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Utah with the Republican governor. And that time, no one launched an investigation into interference in the US election.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to a briefing by White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre.

“So, let me just clarify, because I know this has been talked about a lot. So, the Ukrainians will be visiting a facility that employs American workers who, as you know, produce critical products that are used by the Ukrainian military every day on the front lines on the freedom line. Because this is central to their country's continued existence, this idea came from the Ukrainians, not us,” Jean-Pierre emphasized.

She emphasized that after Ukraine approached the White House with this request, the Defense Department did what it had been doing for years. Namely, it figured out how to provide transportation for foreign leaders traveling through the United States, which often happens when they come to the United States.

“And the whole world knows that this is someone Putin (Russian dictator Vladimir - ed.) wants to kill. He has made it very clear when it comes to President Zelensky,” she said.

At the same time, the spokesperson recalled that only two months ago, President Zelensky visited Utah and held an event with the Republican governor. Jean-Pierre emphasized that it was a very similar event.

“And Republican officials were present at that event in Utah, and there was no demand, no - no - no demand for an investigation when this happened a couple of months ago in Utah. So, it was business as usual for a Ukrainian request in time of war, in time of wartime, and so I would - I would urge - we would urge the Republicans in the House of Representatives to abandon this - this political stunt,” the spokeswoman concluded.
