Ukraine is not looking for an alternative to NATO but needs security guarantees until the end of the war unleashed by Russia.

This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a press conference with his Estonian counterpart Alan Karis, Yevropeiska Pravda reports.

He also emphasized that Ukraine is not going to involve any of the NATO member states in the war.

"We are not looking for a replacement for NATO... We are sane people and we understand that we will not involve any NATO country in the war. Ukraine will not be a member of NATO as long as this war is going on. And not because we don't want to, but because it is impossible," Zelenskyy said.

He added that the current security guarantees for Ukraine are sanctions, financial guarantees, and weapons. These guarantees should be in place until Ukraine becomes a NATO member.
