According to the voting results:

  • 425 deputies supported the resolution;
  • 131 - opposed;
  • 63 abstained.

According to the resolution, Ukraine needs to lift the aforementioned restrictions in order to fully exercise its right to self-defense and not be vulnerable to attacks on its population and infrastructure.

Among other things, the parliament emphasized that the shortage of ammunition, weapons and restrictions on their use could undermine the support efforts that have been made so far. The MPs reiterated their call for the EU to fulfill its 2023 pledge of 1 million rounds of ammunition, as well as to speed up the delivery of weapons, air defense systems and Taurus cruise missiles.

“They (MEPs - ed.) also reiterate their position that all EU countries and NATO allies should collectively and individually commit to spending at least 0.25% of their GDP annually on military assistance to Ukraine,” the European Parliament website says.
