US assesses Russia's expulsion from the UN Security Council

Russia's expulsion from the UN Security Council has been demanded since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. But this is incredibly difficult to achieve.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to a briefing by US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller.

The journalist asked Miller what the US position might be to expel Russia from the UN Security Council.

‘I think that's something that people have been calling for at various times since Russia started or expanded its illegal invasion of Ukraine. If you look at the UN Charter, it's something that would be incredibly difficult to achieve,’ the State Department spokesman said.

He also added that the United States is now focusing on things that are possible in the context of Ukraine.
