The Romanian Ministry of National Defense said it is constantly monitoring NATO borders after Russian attacks on Ukrainian facilities near Romanian territory.

At the same time, the Romanian Ministry of Defense noted that "no direct military threat to the territory or territorial waters of Romania has been identified."
"The Ministry of National Defense strongly condemns the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and the continuation of unjustified and illegal attacks on areas where civilians live and elements of Ukraine's critical infrastructure," the ministry emphasized.
The ministry added that it is "applying heightened vigilance measures established in accordance with national and allied plans, constantly monitoring national territory, sea, and airspace, and cooperating with NATO structures to strengthen defense along the entire eastern flank and deter any aggression against the allied territory."
Russia attacked on Wednesday morning the port of Izmail on the Danube, 15 kilometers from the Romanian city of Tulcea.
