North Korea could deploy up to 100,000 troops to help Russia in its war against Ukraine. This is possible if the alliance between Pyongyang and Moscow continues to deepen.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Bloomberg.
According to Bloomberg, such a move is not inevitable, and military support on this scale, if it occurs, is likely to be in batches with troop rotation over time, rather than a one-time deployment.
Bloomberg noted that earlier this month, Ukraine's Ambassador to South Korea, Dmytro Ponomarenko, made a similar assessment.
In an interview with Voice of America, Ponomarenko said that Kyiv expects up to 15,000 North Korean troops deployed to fight in Russia's Kursk region and possibly in the occupied areas of eastern Ukraine to rotate every few months.
