The French Task Force Champagne has completed training for the Ukrainian brigade Anna Kyivska, which is preparing to return to Ukraine to continue fighting Russian troops.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to ABC News.
This mission takes place against the backdrop of a tense situation in Ukraine, where the war has been going on for almost three years, and the enemy forces are being reinforced.
Russian forces, according to Ukrainian, American and South Korean intelligence, are receiving reinforcements from 12,000 North Korean soldiers stationed in the Kursk region, which raises concerns on the Ukrainian side.
More than 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers, who have undergone intensive two-month training at military training grounds in eastern and southern France, are completing their final tests.
According to representatives of the French Armed Forces, most of these soldiers were recently mobilized and had only a few weeks of basic training. The French brigade consists of infantry battalions, artillery groups and sappers, which, according to military experts, can turn it into a significant combat force.
The French side has also provided the Ukrainian brigade with heavy weapons: 18 AMX 10 light tanks, 18 Caesar artillery pieces, 128 armored personnel carriers and other missile systems. French soldiers of the Champagne Task Force are teaching Ukrainians how to work together, as well as how to maintain and use their equipment.
