The US Department of Defense will be sending arms shipments to Ukraine on a weekly basis. This is necessary in order to have time to allocate the remaining aid to our country.
This was stated by Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing a broadcast of the briefing.
She said that the weekly deliveries are intended to manage to allocate the remaining $7.1 billion in aid to Ukraine before the end of the term of US President Joe Biden and his administration. That is, before the arrival of the newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump.
Singh added that continuing to supply new batches of weapons is a promise to Ukraine that Biden made. Consequently, the US Department of Defense continues to fulfill this promise by sending aid packages on a weekly basis.
“The Secretary (of Defense Lloyd Austin - ed.) will not allow the stockpile to be depleted to a critical level. So as we continue to replenish our own stockpiles, you will see the flow of funds and weapons into Ukraine,” Singh summarized.
