Musk meets with Iranian representative at the UN

On Monday, billionaire Elon Musk met with Iran's UN Ambassador Amir Saeeda Iranian. The parties discussed reducing tensions between Washington and Tehran.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to The New York Times and CNN.

The meeting between the businessman and the Iranian envoy took place in a secret location in New York and lasted more than an hour. According to Iranian officials, the conversation focused on how to defuse tensions between the two countries. They described the meeting as “positive” and “good news.”

In turn, Trump's communications director, Stephen Cheung, neither confirmed nor denied the meeting between a close ally of US President-elect Donald Trump and an Iranian representative.

“We do not comment on reports of private meetings that have or have not taken place,” he said.

Meanwhile, officials of the administration of current US President Joe Biden were not told about the meeting at the UN. They have also not yet received independent confirmation that the conversation took place.
