Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski is confident that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin can still lose the war, and Russia is not invincible.

He said this during a lecture at the British Ditchley Foundation, RBC-Ukraine reports citing his Twitter account.

According to him, Putin "will win this war if we do not stop him." He expressed confidence that the West will be able to do so.

"Contrary to its crazy propaganda, Russia is not invincible. It has lost some of its wars. The Kremlin can be stopped and even defeated - we just forgot about it. Ronald Reagan said that his strategy towards the Soviet Union was simple, if not simplistic: "We win and they lose." I like this approach," Sikorsky said.

He also believes that in order to gain an advantage over Russia, we need to relearn how to win the game of escalation.

"For example, we could confiscate all 300 billion euros of Russian sovereign assets. Putin has already written them off, he doesn't expect to get them back. But he also doesn't think we have the power to take them back. So far, we are proving him right," the Foreign Minister said.

Sikorsky added that Putin regrets the collapse of the Soviet Union and now wants to have a rematch, challenging "our values, our security, and our way of life."

"Our task is to prevent a wider conflict, but also to win. Together, as part of an international alliance of democracies, we can do it," Sikorsky said.
