This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to a report by the International Monetary Fund.

"Several thermal and hydroelectric power plants were completely destroyed in the Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions, while other thermal and hydroelectric power plants also received varying degrees of damage. In total, the number of destroyed capacities is estimated at more than 80% for TPPs and more than 40% for HPPs," it says.

It is noted that, in general, Ukraine has lost about half of its generating capacity.

The IMF emphasized that energy companies will cover the losses caused by the shelling at their own expense, as well as with donor support.
