Following the summit, the EU decided to step up aid to Ukraine

The EU member states have called for increased assistance to Ukraine. In particular, they are talking about air defense and weapons that will help protect infrastructure and the population from Russian attacks.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to a document released following the EU summit.

Thus, the final communiqué states the continuation of support for Ukraine. In particular, the EU reaffirms its continued "unwavering" support for Ukraine and its people "for as long as necessary and as intensively as necessary."

"As Ukraine exercises its inalienable right to self-defense, the delivery of military assistance to Ukraine will be intensified. In particular, air defense systems, ammunition and missiles that are urgently needed to protect the population of Ukraine and critical energy infrastructure," the document says.

Also, according to the European Council, "Russia should not prevail" and the EU "strongly condemns the recent escalation of hostilities by Russia".
