The Chinese authorities fear that, after the collapse of Russia, their relations with the United States will become much more complicated.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with Philadelphia Inquirer columnist Trudy Rubin.

According to Zelenskyy, China thinks that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin acts as a deterrent to the United States. However, it is necessary to understand that today there is only one enemy for everyone - Russia.

"I am constantly trying to take China's attention away from Russia and engage them in our peace process. They should join us. And the second story is that it is difficult to fight on many fronts, and it is illogical to fight in such a way. We have one enemy today - Russia. And I believe that no matter what the difficulties are, Europe and the United States need to separate China from Russia. It will be more logical because a war on many fronts is difficult," Zelenskyy said.

Officially, China takes a neutral position on the war between Ukraine and Russia. At the same time, Beijing is helping Putin's regime in a roundabout way by supplying components for weapons production and buying Russian oil and gas, which are under sanctions from the EU and the US.
