The conclusions approved by the leaders of the 27 member states state that the EU reaffirms its commitment to provide continued political, financial, economic, humanitarian, military and diplomatic support to Ukraine for as long as necessary and as intensively as necessary.

The EU leaders condemned the recent escalation of hostilities by Russia, in particular the further intensification of attacks on civilians and civilian and critical infrastructure, especially in the energy sector.

"As Ukraine exercises its inherent right to self-defense, the European Council calls for increased military support for Ukraine. In particular, air defense systems, ammunition and missiles are urgently needed to protect the population and Ukraine's critical energy infrastructure," the document says.
