23 Spanish firms show interest in rebuilding Ukraine

Twenty-three Spanish companies have expressed interest in participating in Ukraine's reconstruction and recovery. The governments of both countries will determine the areas of cooperation during the visit of Spanish Economy Minister Carlos Cuerpo to Ukraine.

Cuerpo said this in an interview with NV, Ukrinform reports.

"The main goal of my visit is to continue strengthening cooperation through meetings with the Ukrainian authorities and attracting Spanish companies that have shown great interest in participating in the reconstruction and restoration of Ukraine. So, together with your authorities, we are identifying areas of opportunity and engaging 23 Spanish firms to work in strategic sectors," the minister said.

He added that the Spanish side sees many areas for private sector cooperation, such as railways, energy, agriculture, healthcare, and cybersecurity.

"On Thursday (June 27 - ed.), we will also hold a high-level bilateral business meeting to reach concrete agreements," Cuerpo said.

According to him, despite the height of the military conflict, there is a high level of interest of the private sector in participating in the restoration of Ukraine.
