According to the parliament's website, the law was returned to the Rada today, June 26, with the signature of the head of state.

Zelenskyy submitted a bill on the English language to parliament in 2023. This year, in early June, the Verkhovna Rada passed it in the second reading.

The law provides for the official recognition of English as one of the languages of international communication in Ukraine. It also defines the positions for which candidates must know English.

It is proposed that English-language films in cinemas should be shown in the original with subtitles in Ukrainian: starting in 2025, half of all films, starting in 2026, three-quarters; and starting in 2027, all films.
