At a joint press conference with Czech President Petr Pavel, the Slovak head of state noted that Bratislava provides Kyiv with support that is not often mentioned. In particular, it concerns the supply of electricity.

Pellegrini also confirmed that Slovakia is involved in supporting the Czech initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine.

"We will make a significant contribution through our production facilities to the success of the Czech ammunition procurement activities," Pellegrini said.

According to him, Slovakia has significantly increased the production and repair of western caliber shells.

"A significant part of the ammunition collected by the Czech Republic will eventually be restored and produced directly at Slovak factories," Pellegrini said.

The Slovak president also planned a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. It will take place either this week in Brussels during the European Council or during the upcoming NATO summit in Washington.
