Ukrainian crews are preparing for the start of Sea Breeze exercises

The crews of Ukrainian mine countermeasures ships, together with a NATO ship group, are maneuvering at sea to practice joint actions before starting joint tasks as part of Sea Breeze 2024.

According to Ukrinform, the Communications Department of the Naval Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.

"For the second day in a row, the crews of Ukrainian mine countermeasures ships together with the NATO ship group have been maneuvering at sea to practice joint actions before starting to perform joint tasks. The teams perform maneuvering techniques, including in difficult navigational conditions, establish interaction, and test interoperability. They are also practicing various actions to reduce response and decision-making time," the statement said.

It is noted that an important element of the training was the conduct of practical firing at sea to destroy dangerous objects. The purpose of such exercises, the Communications Directorate added, is to test maneuvering and navigation skills, the ability to control the ship and interact with your team. This is what is crucial when working together at sea.

The crews of the ships have a lot of joint activities ahead of them during the active phase of the exercise, which will begin soon.
