Argentina wants to become a global partner of NATO. This was announced by the country's Defense Minister Luis Petri.

As Petri wrote, he met with NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Joane and handed over a letter of intent from the country. "We will continue to work to re-establish ties in order to modernize and train our Armed Forces to NATO standards," Argentina's defense minister wrote.

The North Atlantic Alliance's current global partners are Australia, Colombia, Iraq, Iraq, Japan, Mongolia, New Zealand, Pakistan, the Republic of Korea, and Afghanistan. These countries are not NATO members. Ukraine is currently a member of NATO's Partnership for Peace.

We will remind, in December 2023, in Argentina, there was the inauguration of the new President, Javier Miley. The election of the far-right libertarian Miley was a surprise in the country; a few months before the first round of elections, he was considered an outsider. Miley proposed to save the economy radically: he promised to burn down the Central Bank to end the cancer of inflation and to introduce the dollar instead of the Argentine peso.
