Budanov on Trump's peace plan: No one can solve this issue in one day
The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, expressing his opinion on possible initiatives of US presidential candidate Donald Trump to end Russia's war against Ukraine, said that "even a person like him will not be able to solve this issue in one day."
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Budanov's interview with The Washington Post.
When asked if he was worried that if Trump is elected, he might try to impose his plan for resolving the war, Budanov replied, "I have great respect for Trump's personality."
The DIU chief noted that the former US president studied at a military academy and praised his resilience.
"In his life, there were nine cases when he rose to the top, fell to the very bottom of life, and came back again," Budanov said.
Regarding any peace plan by Trump, Ukraine's top intelligence officer noted: "Even a person like him will not be able to solve this issue in one day."
