Budanov predicts how the war in Ukraine will end

The head of Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate (DIU), Kyrylo Budanov, was cautious about predicting the end of the war in Ukraine.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to The Washington Post.

Budanov said that he "will not object" to the possible disintegration of Russia into small parts.

"Russians' dreams are to occupy the whole of Ukraine, and our dreams are to hold a victory parade... in Moscow. In other words, any outcome is unlikely," Budanov said.

The DIU chief also said that the war will continue as long as this regime is in place in Russia.

"This may or may not change under the next regime, but there will be a window of opportunity," Budanov said.

The journalist also asked about a "negotiated Korean solution", Budanov replied:

"Do I want Ukraine to become North Korea?", the DIU chief replied.
