Canada will transfer 43 air-to-air short-range AIM-9 missiles to Ukraine.
This was reported with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Canada.
Canadian Defence Minister Anita Anand announced after the regular Ramstein meeting that the country would provide Ukraine with AIM-9 missiles free of charge from the Canadian Armed Forces' stockpiles.
According to her, the missiles will help Ukraine protect its skies in the face of ongoing Russian attacks.
In addition, Canada is expanding its presence in Poland as part of Operation UNIFIER. Five additional Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) medical trainers will be deployed to Poland to join the seven CAF members already involved in the Ukraine Armed Forces medical skills development program. The expansion of the medical training mission will double the number of potential Ukrainian graduates.
